American Revolution: War Weapons

The militia had to polish their own gun. The Americans mostly used the brown bess, long rifles, and bayonets. One of the most commonly used weapons is the brown bess which is a muzzle loading smoothbore musket. The brown bess is a British weapon but it is mostly used by the Americans. Long rifles were used by snipers in the revolution. They were designed bythe Americans. It can shoot 300 yards unlike the regular 100 yards the smothbore muskets shoots. The Charleville musket was utilized by the French. This rifle was most effective at a range of 50 yards or less, and used a .69 caliber round. Due to the inaccuracy of the weapons used, the bayonet played a vital role. Since they were already close together instead of taking the time to reload they engaged in hand-to-hand combat.dylon s Jdjones

Who I think created the American Flag

I believe that Betsy Ross created the flag because I believe the meeting in Philadelphia actually happened. I think she made a lot of flags during the Revolutionary War. I believe that General George  Washington actually went to Betsy Ross’s upholstery shop. I believe that she didn’t have to pay for all the supply’s for the flag.

Silversmith

I would want to be a silversmith because, they use hammers and tongs. The colonist turn in their silver coins to the silversmith ,so they could be made into more useful stuff because they didn’t have banks back then.It takes years of practice to do this job well.If he/she chips the silver,it cost a lot of money. They also have to be very patient ,careful, and have skilled hands to do this job.
